Maria Theodora Dimaki, a Greek artist, is a multi-talented person who swings through science and art combining her many faces in the most successful manner. Her works do certainly make a lasting impact! It’s not the most usual thing for one to see painting on X Rays. Dimaki is a painter, etcher, author-poetessand and graduate of medicine! Her artworks are mainly etchings on x-rays. Her technique was inspired by the realism of science and  the human fear for anything that cannot be seen.
”Mostlty working on x-rays. Using Radiograph (X-ray) as canvas, proof of common origin, clue of mortality, and the lancet as the sketching line, in a new technique, ETCHING ON X-RAYS. Leave my scalpel down only to grab pencil, charcoal, watercolor pastels to capture snapshots of fantasy. In series “anARTomy” & “Anatomical Paradox” (www.mariatheodoradimaki.com), I picture anatomy sketches blended in animal figures or human faces. Always in crossroad between humane and animalistic.”

I came across this piece just yesterday -a bit too late, I know- but it made me smile. Thank you.

Plus, an amusing (like to think so) version of an old story at:
