The iconic designer, Marc Jacobs, decided to leave his role as creative director at the coveted French fashion house, Louis Vuitton, and focus on his eponymous label. He decided to honour his career at the Louis Vuitton by creating one final campaign to accompany his Spring Summer 2014 collection. And what a superb work he did!

The fierce all-black collection looks just as astounding as it did on the runway, with sequin embellishments, embossed leather, and lace textures allied with new season Vuitton arm-candy.
Some of his latter muses, photographed by Steven Meisel, modeled the designs; Gisele Bundchen, Edie Campbell, Sophia Coppola, Catherine Deneuve, Fan Bingbling and Caroline de Maigret.
Speaking about his successor and former Balenciaga creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière , Jacobs pointed out what a brilliant designer he is and not only limited to express his admiration but also stated his firm belief that he’ll bring a fresh air to the label, Louis Vuitton, since Ghesquière’s asthetics are so different than his own.

”He is a brilliant designer and he’ll do something completely different,” Jacobs said. ”I’ve always admired Nicolas. I’m curious to see what he’ll do. We have such different aesthetics.”

”Things need to change. I’m really glad someone I respect and admire, and think is a really great talent, is there.”
